Michael Scott Reed

Michael S. (Mike) Reed is a 1982 honors graduate of the University of Kentucky, majoring in geology. His twenty-seven year career has been devoted to the search of oil and gas. As President and co-owner of Aspen Energy, Inc. and Vice President of Tenexco, Inc., he has overseen the purchase of more than $70,000,000 worth of working interest in approximately 550 oil and gas drilling ventures and production purchases. Through Aspen Energy and personally, Mr. Reed has purchased working interests in more than 265 wells since the company's incorporation in 1988.

Mr. Reed has worked to build a close network of contacts in the oil and gas producing states of New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky. His primary expertise is screening drilling opportunities, generating in-house drilling prospects and handling the day to day duties of operating an oil and gas company and the needs of its financial partners.

Mr. Reed continues to provide high quality investment opportunities to financial partners funding the various acquisitions and drilling ventures. Aspen prefers to focus its activities primarily on natural gas and oil drilling at depths between 2,000' and 14,000' in the states of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Indiana, and Alabama. Aspen's past financial successes have resulted from drilling in established fields and wildcatting using the latest seismic technologies and computer aided interpretations. These principles and past investment experiences guide the decision making process as new opportunities are pursued.
